missions
OVERVIEW: To respond to the call Jesus Christ has given us – to be HIS WITNESSES in all the earth. The primary focus and priorities that guide missions leadership are centered around efforts that strengthen the local church.
PURPOSE: To
enable our church body to participate in the command of Jesus: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching
them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always,
to the very end of the age. Mathew
28:19-20
And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. 2 Timothy 2:2
MISSION: To glorify GOD through the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) by equipping and lifting up people and missionaries to disciple the nations of the world. This will include reaching out locally, globally, and cross culturally as in Acts 1:8, “and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
VISION: To have a growing Missions Ministry that is wholly dependent on GOD and is understood and well known within Rockpoint Church for being effective in choosing, supporting and encouraging missionaries and mission organizations serving Christ at home and abroad.
STRATEGY:
Prayer: Pray boldly asking God to raise up and develop Godly workers and leaders within Rockpoint Church, and to further His Kingdom through the missions and missionaries we support. After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. Acts 4:31
Grow Missions Awareness: Promote missions awareness through encouraging and engaging communication.
· Provide educational opportunities to help people understand our missions ministry
· Keep our missionaries and missions ministry activities before the congregation
Support Missionaries: Provide support for both current and carefully chosen new missionaries, both national and international.
· Interactive communication with missionaries
· Provide encouragement and practical support
· Assist EFCA/ReachGlobal church planting efforts around the world
Meeting Needs: Partner with “like minded” mission projects or as opportunities present themselves, to meet the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of those served. The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me’. Matthew 25:40

Provide Opportunities: Initiate missions projects for participation by the entire church body. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Matthew 9:37-38
· Short term mission opportunities–service and outreach

· Encourage and facilitate long-term mission opportunities
